Service Providers
Nonprofit providers touch every part of Los Angeles County, conducting their work with deep expertise, dedication, and compassion. Their on-the-ground knowledge and day-to-day connection to people experiencing or at risk of homelessness is crucial to the success of all our work. Providers are not just partners; they are thought leaders and trusted allies who share our vision of a just and compassionate system of care that prevents and ends homelessness for people in LA County.
Local Jurisdictions
Homelessness is a regional issue, and HSH considers it a top priority to collaborate with the 88 cities that fall within the County’s boundaries, as well as Councils of Governments (COGs), which are Joint Powers Authorities that provide cooperative planning, coordination, and technical assistance on issues of mutual concern that cross jurisdictional lines. Our co-investment opportunities create more housing solutions, reduce the number of encampments, and advance innovative solutions. Learn more about our work with local jurisdictions.
Continuums of Care
HSH works closely with all four Continuums of Care in Los Angeles County. The Los Angeles Homeless Services Authority (LAHSA) leads the Los Angeles Continuum of Care (CoC), the largest regional planning body that guides and tracks homeless individuals and families through a comprehensive array of housing and services designed to prevent and end homelessness. In addition, HSH coordinates with the Cities of Glendale, Pasadena, and Long Beach, who each operate distinct Continuums of Care for their respective jurisdictions.
County Departments
HSH serves as the lead coordinator for the County’s work on homelessness. County departments and agencies provide a range of services as part of the County’s social safety net; some take the lead on specific strategies and increase their service capacity by contracting with nonprofits that provide outreach, case management, housing and more.
Faith-Based Organizations
HSH maintains a strong connection with faith-based organizations serving people experiencing homelessness. The faith community has a time-honored tradition of providing tangible supportive services to those in need, such as programs providing comfort, free meals, clothing, showers, on-site shelter, and hosting health clinics. They put into practice their core faith tenet to unconditionally open their doors and serve society’s marginalized and those unwelcomed by others.
