After being released from prison, Christian enrolled in the Phoenix House rehab program. While there,
the 33-year-old was able to participate in the Center for Employment Opportunities where he worked on
the Caltrans crews as part of the LA:RISE Transitional Subsidized Employment program. He also worked with a job developer weekly to create a resume, practice interview skills, and learn financial literacy. Christian was able to open his own bank account and save enough money to buy a car. He eventually secured full-time employment at Yerba Mate and is now saving money and working on his credit in the hopes of moving into his own place soon.
