It’s something most of us take for granted, but for people experiencing homelessness, access to a hot shower and a clean towel can be a big deal. A new weekly program at Whittier Narrows Recreation Area makes portable showers from the nonprofit organization Lava Mae available, along with toiletries, haircuts and hot meals.
