On February 7, 2019, the L.A. County Homeless Initiative convened its third annual conference, which brought together more than 800 stakeholders engaged in the watershed movement to combat and prevent homelessness. Themed Transformative Power of Community: Changing Lives, the daylong summit included interactive forward-looking discussions around issues including racism, poverty and housing scarcity; special populations; rapid rehousing; prevention and diversion; and incarceration and homelessness.
The dynamic forum gathered leaders from across the diverse network of regional partners, including community-based homeless service providers, cities, county departments, faith organizations, philanthropy and people who have lived the experience of homelessness. It was a celebration of the continued collaboration across the County and an important time to reflect on lessons learned and develop new solutions to the complex challenges in our midst.
