Veteran on a Pathway Home

A retired Army veteran, musician and singer, David fell into homelessness when his wife passed away and he was evicted from their home as his name was not on the formal lease.

He lived on the streets of Monrovia for two years until outreach workers with the Los Angeles Homeless Services Authority (LAHSA) and nonprofit service providers Union Station Homeless Services and Volunteers of America (VOA) worked with him over a six-month period to build David’s trust.

The support they provided him during this time led him to accept housing during a Pathway Home operation conducted this summer in the Monrovia and Duarte region. David moved into interim housing and is now on a path to permanent housing.
