California First Partner Jennifer Siebel Newsom toured the newly opened Restorative Care Village on the campus of LAC+USC Medical Center.
The Restorative Care Village provides access to a full continuum of clinical care and supportive services on one campus—including recuperative and respite housing, mental health care, substance use disorder treatment, and other transitional and support services to enable patients to heal and safely reintegrate into the community.
“We see the humanity in each other,” said Newson. “We make sure people get not just the housing but the wraparound support and services they need to then fulfill their potential and be part of the larger California community. This is going to address the behavioral health crisis and the housing crisis in our state. This is a model not just for the state but for the nation.”
