Supervisor Holly J. Mitchell recently toured a hotel that’s been turned into interim housing for families.

Los Angeles County purchased the 41-room former Travel Plaza Inn in late 2020 to serve as a Project Homekey site dedicated to serving families.

The Los Angeles County Homeless Initiative and Real Estate offices handled the sale, and LAHSA is working HOPICS to have the site serve – initially – as an interim housing facility. As with LA County’s nine other Homekey sites, it will later be converted into permanent supportive housing.
